MMI's Employee of the Month

The Employee of the Month for June is Sandy Schanck. Sandy is an Isabella Connections Coach in the Transitional Employment Department. She joined the MMI team as a Substitute in Mt. Pleasant in May 2003. Then in February of 2004 Sandy was promoted from Substitute to a part-time Connections Coach. In December 2005 she transferred to the full time Connections Coach status.

Sandy works very diligently with her 1:1 and takes on addition responsibilities with a smile. (As you can see in the picture above, at last years Halloween Forum.) Sandy often loads busses and assumes the responsibility of securing wheelchairs. Sandy’s dedication to this tasks helps keep the congestion down during periods of high traffic in the lunchroom. As Sandy tells it, this is a good way to get her “cardio” in during the day. Sandy recently revised the emergency exit postings with color coding and improved markings to make them more beneficial to the person served and staff. Sandy’s new supervisor, Tom Salliotte Operations Supervisor had this to say, “Sandy is a quiet and unassuming employee who does her job professionally and makes sure her assigned consumer’s needs are always met. Sandy is a real asset to MMI.” Laurie Matties, Community Connections Supervisor added, “She is such a team player and is greatly respected by her coworkers.”
