Robin Faber

Robin works as a Program Specialist in Isabella County. She has been a dependable and hardworking member of the MMI team for 30 years. She has very close professional relationships with the people she serves. She writes effective individualized support plans to help people reach their potential and to meet their goals. Robin is considered one of the organizations ‘detectives’ in that if there is a problem or question, she is extremely creative and tenacious in finding a solution. Robin is respectful and patient in her interactions with people. She has been recognized by several different families for her caring and support of the people she works with. Robin is an excellent advocate and always has the person served best interest at heart.

Aaron Ross

Mt. Pleasant

Aaron became a member of the MMI Community Connections team just over two years ago. He immediately demonstrated his commitment to creating inclusive communities. Aaron connects well with the people in his groups. He goes out of his way to get to know the people he is working with. People trust Aaron, have fun, and genuinely enjoy being in groups with him. Aaron has done a fantastic job providing direction and support for the Mac TV volunteer group, especially. Volunteers in the Mac TV group have created and been a part of entertaining and informative videos, learned to utilize media and production equipment in the studio, as well as gaining an understanding of the writing, editing, and production areas. Aaron is encouraging, enthusiastic, and goes out of his way to make sure that the people in his groups are having a positive experience while working with MMI. Aaron frequently volunteers the use of his talents and equipment at MMI events. He is always willing to help his co-workers on the job and off. When it snows, or there is ice in the parking lot, Aaron takes the initiative to go out and spread salt around the doorways, agency vehicles, and sometimes staff vehicles, if time allows. He is quick to volunteer to cover for other people when needed. Aaron doesn’t wait for opportunities to help; he actively seeks those opportunities out. His consistent willingness to help others, his positive attitude, and his commitment to creating inclusive communities and meaningful connections make him an asset to MMI.

Kassandra Long

Mt. Pleasant

Kassandra joined the MMI team in February of 2018. She quickly learned her responsibilities as an Employment Coach and has since demonstrated her dedication and passion for helping people succeed. Kassandra regularly coaches for CM Life delivery, General Grounds, and the MMI grounds crew. Kassandra is very flexible and does a wonderful job fitting special projects into her schedule whenever necessary. Kassandra’s positive attitude and organization skills make her a wonderful example to all the people she works with. She takes the time to get to know every person she coaches in order to learn their strengths and further develop their skills. She has gone above and beyond to help people build confidence and realize their full potential. Kassandra shows her commitment to the mission of MMI.
She is truly helping lead the way to inclusive communities.

Nicole Haufbauer

Southern Operations

Nicole has been a refreshing addition to the community Connections program in Southern Operations. She has gone above and beyond in the time that she has been with MMI. She is almost always willing to cover extra shifts for her coworkers to ensure quality programming for our participants. She is willing to take on other additional duties when asked., such as finding new volunteer sites for the individuals that she coaches. She is sure to include lots of details and facts when she writes her summaries to assure that services are documented according to agency standards. Nicole has been able to form a bond with a person who waited for some time to have the opportunity to work with MMI. When the manager of the program recently followed up with the guardian of one of our participants, she stated, “We love her. Please let us keep her forever!!!” It is Nicole’s dedication to helping people grow in their independence that has made her such a good fit for the MMI team. Keep up the great work. You are helping lead the way to inclusive communities.

Lexie Evers


Lexie was hired in February of this year as a contingent Community Coach in Clare.
She hit the ground running and quickly began showing interest in many different areas.
Within her first month she accepted a full-time position with an individual in Clare.
She has worked diligently to assist him in making progress toward his personal goals.
Lexie’s passion for creating inclusive communities has shown in her day to day work.
She is fun and shows compassion with program participants and her teammates. She
is always willing to pick up a transportation shift when needed and has even volunteered
to help a Community Employment Team in Clare three mornings a week. She has a
“Can Do” attitude and is a pleasure to work with.

Amanda Lawson

Mt. Pleasant

Amanda has worked in several roles since starting with the MMI team in 2015. Amanda hit the ground running in her new position as Communication Specialist. She has revised the Cutting Edge to be a better communication tool for our staff. She has made significant changes to the format and content we share on social media. The agency has received many positive comments about the new content and the positive focus of the posts. She also worked very hard to make sure MMI was well represented at the Dow Great Lakes Bay LPGA golf tournament, making sure MMI met the requirements we agreed to and spending long (and HOT) days on the golf course to cheer on our players. This resulted in both a $9000 donation to MMI and some important community connections that raised the visibility of the organization to some important stakeholders. Most recently, Amanda met with the consultant who was hired to create a fund development plan for MMI. They worked together to create a reasonable and effective plan to help generate new revenue for the organization. Amanda’s hard work, positive attitude, and focus on our creating inclusive communities is helping to raise awareness of all the good work that the MMI team does on behalf of the people we serve.
